MEET SPARROW

Sparrow is ready for his forever home! Sparrow was brought into PPP when he was 16-weeks-old as a part of PPP's service dog training program. Unfortunately, Sparrow is not motivated enough to be happy as a service dog. PPP is looking for a pet home for Sparrow. Sparrow would not be suitable to continue training as a service dog or therapy dog.

Sparrow is currently 1-year-old and approximately 75 lbs. Sparrow enjoys training and knows sit, down, wait, coming when called, touch, name response, under, leave it, go potty, go to bed, front, turn, and many more cues. Sparrow generally does well being crated. He does well being bathed and groomed. Sparrow generally walks well on a leash but may pull in new environments. Sparrow is accustomed to wearing a front-clip harness and Halti to help manage this behavior.

Sparrow is generally healthy and has not had any health concerns during his time at PPP. Sparrow is currently intact and will be adopted on a contract and must be neutered by 15 months. This is to reduce Sparrow's risk of joint and muscle injuries since he is a large breed dog.

Sparrow is a mellow dog and likes going on walks but prefers to relax and solve a puzzle toy most days! He is a true lab and loves playing in the pool and chasing the water hose. Sparrow is generally good with other dogs, but he is a still an adolescent dog and is still learning his boundaries with other dogs. Sometimes he can be a bit too much for less boisterous dogs, but has been improving with work on his boundaries. Sparrow is generally friendly with new people, but may occasionally bark when meeting new people that may appear more "unusual" (i.e. people who are wearing hats, have large beards, etc.). He does well with slow introductions with these people. Once Sparrow is comfortable, he loves being pet and is the ultimate velcro dog.

Apply to adopt Sparrow today and embark on your next adventure together!
